Career Opportunities for Qualified Teachers

There has never been a more exciting time to explore a career in childcare with Acorn Nursery!

Acorn Nursery is continuing to grow and seeks like-minded professionals to partner with us. We are looking towards a bright future as we work together to improve the quality and availabilty of early childhood education in Qatar while offering rewarding career opportunities to our employees.

More than just a job

We understand that the care and education we offer is only as good as our staff. As such, we are committed to providing ongoing training and development for all our staff to assist them in meeting their professional goals.

Working at Acorn Nursery is more than just a job. In addition to structured career development, we provide a caring and supportive working environment in which teamwork and individual initiative are recognised, valued and rewarded. Few industries can match the rewards of working in a quality international childcare setting where you are part of a closely-knit team, but also an integral part of the wider community.

Minimum qualifications for teachers

At Acorn we are proud of the quality of the EYFS UK-style education we provide.

To support this, it is essential that all teachers must be fluent English speakers, hold a UK-recognised relevant teaching qualification and have recent experience teaching in an early childhood setting (preferably in the UK).  Examples of acceptable qualifications include a university degree in education or a CACHE Level 3 diploma (or equivalent) in early years education.

Required documentation

Applicants will be required to provide (at their own expense) the documentation required by the government authorities to apply for a Qatar Work Permit. This is an onerous process subject to frequent change, but currently includes:

  1. Police clearance certificate from your home country, attested and stamped by the Qatar Embassy in your home country and issued within the last 4 months. This must be attested by the Qatar Embassy in your home country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha.
  2. Copy of educational qualifications, attested by the Qatar Embassy in your home country as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha
  3. If your qualification is a Diploma or Degree, you must additionally supply a grade transcript and a cover letter from your university/college confirming the authenticity of the qualification, the mode of study (full or part time,  face-to-face or distance learning), the palce of study, the place of examination, the title of the award (BA, BSc, BEd etc), the duration of the course and the actual start and finish dates. Both of these must also be attested by the Qatar Embassy in your home country as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha
  4. Passport copy with a Residence Permit valid for at least a further 8 months
  5. Letter of No Objection from your sponsor (e.g. husband or father) in Qatar, in Arabic (we can provide a template)
  6. Copy of your sponsor’s Qatar ID (both sides)
  7. Copy of your own Qatar ID (both sides)
  8. 4 passport photos
  9. Copy of your resignation or termination letter from previous employer (only if you have held a previous Labour Card in Qatar)

Any job offer is contingent upon us being able to obtain the required Work Permit or Residence Visa for you to work legally in Qatar.
